Awesome Artists-Designed Science Neckties

If you’re the kind person of who thinks about how the brain works and you happen to have a great sense of style, then you’ve found your people.

Synaptex Studios makes neuroscience inspired clothing entirely by human artists and we’ve just launched our first line of neckties (with one bow tie).

These turned out absolutely lovely - it was such a pleasure to open the shipment and find exactly what we wanted. We really think you’ll love them too.

Each tie starts from a work of art. The neckties utilize the base patterns of our first line and consist of digital art from Jennifer Alexander, with Mike Dudek’s brain dot design covering the bow tie.

In Jennifer’s creative process, her focus is on creating organic art, a style of art that reflects the non-linear, curvy, chaotic patterns found in nature. “It has been said that nature is the best designer and I find inspiration all around me.”

The collaborating artists at Synaptex Studios are the core of our community. It’s their creative vision of neuroscience that draws us all in. Each artist has different methods, styles, intentions, and inspirations.

The art produced varies from intricate digital neuron art by Jenn Alexander to hand carved memory seahorse art block prints by Emma Rosi and brain art drawings in ink made from local mushrooms by Ivy Ratliff. (You can see the digital neuron art on the neckties; the others are both in the works for future collections.)

Every pattern in our collection is by a human artist. It’s intentional, and will stay that way.

Support of creative brains is critical to healthy, thriving communities.  The Synaptex community supports your personal style with subtle, thoughtful science focused patterns.

We think you’ll find our artist-designed ties as creatively wonderful as we do - check them out!

P.S. We are offering free delivery to the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting in Chicago in April 2026!
